Join Hope For Minds on September 11th at MindForge for a one-of-a-kind educational symposium that brings together individuals with brain injuries, families, healthcare professionals, educators, and community organizations to learn, collaborate, and strengthen the continuum of care. Through expert presentations and meaningful conversation, we'll explore how the brain heals and how we can improve recovery together.
About the Symposium
Recovery from a pediatric brain injury is not a journey that families, healthcare professionals, educators, or community organizations should navigate alone. Meaningful recovery happens when clinical expertise, lived experience, and community support come together.
Hosted by Hope For Minds, The Brain Injury Education Symposium: Bridging Clinical Insight and Real-Life Recovery was created to do just that.
Our inaugural symposium theme, From Injury to Recovery: Understanding the Brain's Capacity to Heal, will bring together individuals with brain injuries, families, healthcare professionals, educators, rehabilitation specialists, and organizations supporting the brain injury community for a morning of education, collaboration, and meaningful connection.
Through evidence-informed presentations, interactive discussion, and shared perspectives, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of pediatric brain injury recovery while exploring how collaboration across disciplines can improve outcomes for children and their families.
Healthcare professionals attending the symposium will have the opportunity to earn Continuing Education (CEU/CME) credits (pending accreditation approval).
Meet the Experts
Centre for Neuro Skills
A physician from Centre for Neuro Skills will present "The Healing Code: How Neuroplasticity Transforms Brain Injury Recovery," introducing the science of neuroplasticity and exploring how the brain's remarkable ability to adapt and reorganize creates opportunities for recovery following pediatric brain injury.
MindForge
Dr. Emily Kalambaheti and Dr. Dalia El-Hag will share their expertise in pediatric brain injury assessment, persistent symptoms, multidisciplinary care, and evidence-informed approaches that support long-term recovery. Their presentations will help attendees better understand the complexities of brain injury recovery and the importance of coordinated, patient-centered care.
