Who We Are

Frequent Questions

We're here to help! Whether you're looking for support or curious about how your generous donations make a difference, we've compiled answers to some of the most commonly asked questions below.

If you don't find what you're looking for, feel free to reach out to Ronda at ronda@hopeforminds.org - we'd love to hear from you!

  • What does Hope for Minds do?

Our mission is to support children and their families after a brain injury through a comprehensive, compassionate approach. Guided by Co-Founder Tim Siegel’s personal experience caring for his son, Luke, we understand the unique challenges families face.

From the moment a parent reaches out, we step in to help them navigate their new reality—explaining their child’s condition, exploring treatment options, and providing financial assistance for therapies not covered by insurance. We also connect families to additional resources, offer advocacy support for IEPs (individualized education programs) in schools, and provide support groups for the entire family.

  • Where does my donation go?

Your donation helps children with brain injuries and their families by covering the cost of essential therapies, medical equipment, counseling, and other services not typically covered by insurance. It also supports our educational programs, support groups, and advocacy efforts to improve quality of life and access to care. We’re committed to being responsible stewards of every dollar we receive and often partner with other organizations to maximize impact and reduce costs. For example, we collaborate with the TX Ramp Project to help families in need of wheelchair ramps.

Hope for Minds is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all donations are tax-deductible. You will receive a donation receipt for tax purposes.

  • How do I get involved?

We have several events each year to raise money for our mission, and volunteers keep our events running smoothly. We'd love to have you on our team! Click the Volunteer button at the top of the page in the blue banner to get notified about our next event!

If you're not from Lubbock or Austin, you can get involved by following us on social media and sharing our posts! Our socials are linked in the footer! :)

  • How can I apply for financial assistance?
